Susan is an experienced ecologist, having worked in Ireland and internationally in different sectors: ecological consultancy, biodiversity research, international non-governmental organisations and academic institutions. Her areas of expertise include surveying and assessing habitats, plants and biodiversity, writing management plans for areas of biodiversity interest, production and analysis of maps and GIS data, managing ecological projects, evaluating research proposals, writing technical reports and scientific papers, university lecturing and conducting workshops for interchange of ideas within complex projects and for training. Susan’s PhD was on native wet woodlands in Ireland, and she worked on woodland/forest-related subjects for a number of years. She is a certified Native Woodland Scheme ecologist. She has written two books, one an illustrated guide to plants and the other on effects of sea level rise on coastal habitats - very pertinent for today’s climate especially along the Western Seaboard where she lives.
