Woodrow has an excellent reputation for high quality ecological services and we require more experienced staff. The roles are for two positions - a seasonal ornithologist and a bat-worker. There is potential for people with the rights skills to share these roles.
Seasonal Ornithologist - Skills Required:
• Excellent Bird identification skills;
• Experience in ornithological field surveys including walk-over, vantage point and roost surveys;
• Experience in species-specific and standard surveys e.g., upland breeding wader surveys;
• Good knowledge of methodologies of a wide range of breeding bird surveys;
• Well organised and ability to collect and collate data into mobile applications to the standards required;
• Happy to undertake lone working and working in remote areas, in line with Woodrow strict H&S operating procedures and buddy systems;
• Access to own vehicle desirable & clean EU Driving license.
Seasonal Bat Worker - Skills Required:
• Experience in bat survey techniques and bat survey equipment (Woodrow use wildlife acoustics SM2s, SM4s, SM minis, EM3s and Batloggers);
• Good knowledge of Irish bat ecology;
• Ability to deploy sensitive bat equipment and weather stations appropriately;
• Well organised and ability to collect and collate data into mobile applications to the standards required;
• Happy to undertake lone working and working in remote areas, where in line with Woodrow strict H&S operating procedures and buddy systems (Woodrow do not allow any lone working at night);
• Access to own vehicle desirable & clean EU Driving license.
