Tanushree Mundra is a Freshwater Ecologist at Woodrow APEM Group, having joined in January 2025. Originally from India, she brings over four years of interdisciplinary experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessments, and ecological restoration. She has a strong background in both freshwater and marine ecosystems, shaped by extensive academic and field experience across Asia and Europe.

Tanushree holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Pune (2014) and a master’s in Ecology and Environmental Studies from Nalanda University (2017). Wanting to develop her skills and knowledge more, she later pursued an Erasmus Mundus master’s in marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea), where she focused on life history strategies of marine mammals. Her research and conservation work span diverse aquatic environments, from tidal pools and swamps to vast oceans.

Before her studies in Europe, Tanushree was involved in various Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects in India, particularly in mangrove and wetland ecosystems. She has worked closely with fishing communities to understand the challenges posed by unplanned development and fisheries management. Her conservation efforts also include citizen science initiatives to combat illegal freshwater turtle trafficking and hands-on experience in the training and rescue of river dolphins, crocodiles, and gharials.

Beyond her professional work, Tanushree enjoys painting, embroidery, cooking, and exploring the wild.
