James O’Connor

James, a native of County Sligo, holds a PhD in aquatic sciences with a primary technical specialism in freshwater ecology. He has strong field experience in aquatic ecology and also brings expertise in ornithology and mammal ecology. James manages projects of varying scales and works closely with clients, regularly providing consultation. James’s reporting experience includes contributions to EIARs, particularly for onshore wind energy developments, the production of AA Screening and NIS reports and various technical reports. James is the first author of five peer-reviewed academic research papers and has helped disseminate key research findings to state agencies such as the Irish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as well as local authorities.

Outside of work, James enjoys following sport, particularly GAA, birdwatching, hiking, and practicing his photography skills.
