Paddy is originally from Wexford but moved up to Sligo in search of work in his studied area. He spent 4 years in Galway completing a degree in Applied Freshwater and Marine Biology degree at GMIT. Throughout his degree he developed a growing passion for Irish wildlife completing numerous wildlife surveys in a range of different habitats with a focus on birds, undertaking countless seabird surveys on board the research vessel the Celtic voyager. Paddy also has knowledge of GIS, excel and statistical analysis as ID skills of aquatic and marine species. Birds seemed to pique his interest however, and after graduating in 2019 he discovered a real interest for birds and ornithology. He became an avid bird watcher and amateur wildlife photographer, and through this gained extensive knowledge on Bird ID, bird behavior, and distribution. He has joined Woodrow to carry out fieldwork for the summer and looks forward to working with the Woodrow team throughout the coming months.
