Woodrow ecologists monitor site weather conditions whilst sitting at desks

New weather stations in situ

Woodrow staff can now monitor weather conditions at key field-work sites whilst sitting at their desks!  We have just deployed 6 new weather monitoring stations at sites across Ireland.  All the weather data recorded and collated is sent through to the office via satellite! The new equipment was purchased because the new SNH bat guidelines require constant monitoring of climatic conditions on sites so we can correlate this with recorded bat activity.  Static bat monitors are also in place at the sites recording bat activity throughout the Summer season.
