Kate O’Brien

Kate O’Brien is an Assistant Ecologist with a specialism in botany. She joined Woodrow Sustainable Solutions in March 2024.

Since joining the team she has been involved in a variety of ecological surveys. She has experience in agri-ecology, habitat and botanical identification, including protected species.

As a habitat surveyor she has worked in peatland, coastland and upland habitats of West Connacht.

She has an MSc in Wildlife Conservation and Management from University College Dublin.

Her master’s thesis was titled ‘Sustainable Seaweed Harvesting in Ireland’.

She is a qualifying member of CIEEM.
