Katie Larkin

Katie joined Woodrow in May 2024 as a Seasonal Assistant Ecologist. She grew up in Co. Longford but currently lives along the River Moy in Co. Mayo. Katie has spent the last number of years working in healthcare but has always been a nature enthusiast with a deeply rooted love for the outdoors. In recent years she decided to pursue a career in Ecology having taken stock of the pressures that our ecosystems face.

Commencing her degree in 2021 at ATU Sligo has really solidified this passion and has allowed her gain valuable experience in plant surveying, bird surveying, habitat mapping and data management. Through this experience she has grown her working knowledge of Irelands flora, fauna and habitats.

In her free time, Katie enjoys kayaking, reading and volunteering to do countryside bird surveys (CBS).
